Star Wars' Boba Fett to Get Standalone Movie with James Mangold as Director!

On the heels of Solo: A Star Wars Story‘s release in theaters, a Boba Fett movie has been confirmed and filmmaker James Mangold will be writing and directing it!

Mangold most recently co-wrote and directed the X-Men movie Logan and he earned an Oscar nomination for Best Adapted Screenplay.

Boba Fett is a fan favorite character first introduced to the Star Wars universe in 1980′s Empire Strikes Back. The character as an adult has a Mandalorian helmet over his face and has practically no lines, but still made a huge impact in the franchise. Boba Fett (who appears in the prequels as a kid) was supposedly killed off by Han Solo in 1983′s Return of the Jedi and fans were hoping for him to make an appearance in Solo, but he doesn’t.

THR also reports that an Obi-Wan Kenobi movie is in the works!
