Ellen Pompeo Calls for More Diverse Critics at Cannes Lions Festival 2018!

Ellen Pompeo is lending her support to the more diversity in film reviews movement.

While speaking at the 2018 Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity on Tuesday afternoon (June 19), the 48-year-old actress expressed she will “make sure reporters who are people of color get to come in and interview me” moving forward.

Ellen attended the panel alongside PR maven Richard Edelman and Kirsty Wark and also addressed her Grey’s Anatomy deal, which saw her sign on for two more years and in the process become the highest-paid actress in television.

“The timing was everything,” Ellen expressed (via Deadline). “The studio didn’t have two key players to leverage against me. They no longer had Patrick Dempsey or Shonda [Rhimes]. They had nobody left to hang the franchise hat on.”
