Pete Davidson Returns to Standup on NYE, Jokes About Ariana Grande Breakup

Pete Davidson did a stand-up comedy show on New Year’s Eve and among the things he talked about was his ex-fiancee Ariana Grande.

The 25-year-old Saturday Night Live star opened up about Ariana‘s breakup song “Thank U, Next” during the set on Monday (December 31) in Boston, Mass.

“Here’s the thing about the breakup song. Usually breakup songs you know who it’s about but you don’t really know. That G named all of us,” he said (via E! News). “Bam. She named all of us. And then, tells us, yeah, he has a big d-ck.”

The song was released moments before Pete was set to appear on SNL.

“That s–t came out before I had to put on a f–king duck hat and be like, ‘derrrp here’s the pizza!’ So all my friends were there. It was a sad day. We didn’t know it was going to happen,” he said. “This won’t be easy, this is rough. So I start playing it. And we’re all like, ‘Ehhh… it’s ok.’ We’re like ‘Okay, it’s not that bad for you. It’s bad, but it’s not that bad for you.’”

Pete also opened up about how his mom, a nurse, received some flak from someone while at work.

“She was walking in the hallway and some little f–king kid started singing ‘Thank U Next’ to her. Me, I get it, but my mom?” he said.

This is the first time that Pete has performed standup since his alarming tweets that had fans (and Ariana) worried that he was suicidal.
