Ashley Judd's Sexual Harrassment Claim Against Harvey Weinstein Dismissed by Judge

Ashley Judd‘s sexual harassment claim against Harvey Weinstein was dismissed in court on Wednesday (January 9), according to TMZ.

The 50-year-old actress claimed that the 66-year-old movie producer kept her from a role in Lord of the Rings, and then blacklisted her from further movie roles, after she refused his sexual advances.

She sued Harvey under the legal theory “sexual harassment in professional relationship.” The judge ruled that Ashley and Harvey‘s relationship did not fall within that law and that a producer-actress relationship is not covered under that law.

While the law was changed in 2018 to cover that kind of relationship, the judge also ruled it could not be applied retroactively. However, she can still litigate her defamation claim.
