Is Danai Gurira Leaving ‘The Walking Dead’? Showrunner Speaks Out…

The 40-year-old actress has been starring as Michonne on AMC’s The Walking Dead since 2012, but her time on the show may be coming to an end soon.

Rumors have been swirling that Danai is leaving the show and now showrunner and executive producer Angela Kang is speaking out.

“I’ll just say Michonne is obviously a huge part of the story of The Walking Dead,” she told Insider. “We absolutely love Danai. Anything that’s contract-wise, that’s for people to work out, but we have a lot of exciting stories to tell with her going forward. We’re thrilled for what’s in store for her. That’s as much as I can say right now.”
