Fox Issues Statement After Jussie Smollett Arrest for False Police Report

Fox is now considering what to do following the arrest of Empire star Jussie Smollett on Thursday morning (February 21).

The network issued a statement following the Chicago police press conference, in which they revealed they believe Jussie was unhappy with his salary and faked a hate crime by paying two brothers to stage an attack.

“We understand the seriousness of this matter and we respect the legal process. We are evaluating the situation and we are considering our options,” the network said in a statement to Variety.

Jussie himself has not made a statement on the arrest. None of his Empire co-stars have also said anything about what allegedly went down.
