R. Kelly Charged With 10 Counts of Aggravated Criminal Sexual Abuse

R. Kelly has been charged with ten counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse on Friday morning (February 22), according to TMZ.

The charge is considered a Class 2 felony in Illinois. Each charge carries a maximum sentence of 3 to 7 years in prison.

According to the report, the victims involved ranged in age from 13 to 16 years old. One of the victims is the subject of four different counts. There are four victims in total.

Two women testified for a grand jury over the last week, including one who provided physical evidence. At least a dozen women reportedly came forward to testify. An alleged sex tape was also presented, which “was a pivotal force leading to the charges.”

He will reportedly voluntarily surrender to police later in the evening.
