Selena Gomez Calls Out Snapchat for Eye Color in Filters
Selena Gomez makes a good point.
The 26-year-old “I Can’t Get Enough” singer questioned Snapchat’s beauty standards in a now-deleted Story, captured and re-posted by fan accounts.

In the clips, Selena tries on various filters and addresses the issue of the app commonly changing one’s eye color to blue for all the “pretty” filters.
“Literally every single Snapchat filter has the blue eyes,” she says. “But also like, what if you have brown eyes? … Am I supposed to have these eyes to like, look good?”
While trying out filters that enlarge various facial features, Selena remarks, “They should have more filters like this … oh great, and it’s the only one that uses my brown eyes. Look at this. And again, they use my brown eyes for this one. I don’t understand.”
She adds, “They have all the blue eyes for all the ones that are like really pretty. … Why? … I think I’m gonna stick to the ‘Gram. Brown eyes are beautiful, everyone.”
