Keanu Reeves Is Proud to Be a Person of Color

Keanu Reeves is opening up in a new interview with Essence about being a person of color.

While most fans just know the 54-year-old actor as a Canadian star, he actually grew up around Chinese culture thanks to his grandmother and he says he’s proud of his heritage.

Keanu told the outlet that he is “not a spokesperson” for Asian actors in Hollywood though.

“I hope that whatever opportunities I’ve had, or the work that I’m doing, in some way can entertain and can also—I don’t want to say teach—but have something of value come out of it,” he added.
