Jelani Alladin & James Monroe Iglehart to Star in Off-Broadway Adaptation of 'Hercules'

The lead roles for the upcoming Off-Broadway musical adaption of Disney’s Hercules have been revealed!

The Public Theater announced that Hercules will be played by Jelani Alladin – who originated the role of Kristoff in the Broadway production of Frozen.

James Monroe Iglehart – who won a Tony Award for playing the Genie in Aladdin – will be playing the sarcastic satyr Phil.

Spring Awakening‘s Krysta Rodriguez will play Meg, while Roger Bart – who provided the singing voice of young Hercules in the 1997 animated film – will play Hades.

The Hercules musical will be directed by Lear deBessonett and will be presented by a special arrangement with Disney Theatrical Productions. The show will be playing a free run from August 31 to September 8 at the Public Theater’s Delacorte Theater in Central Park.
