BIGBANG Member T.O.P Released From Military Service Amid Controversy

T.O.P, born Choi Seung-hyun, is done with his military service.

The 31-year-old South Korean BIGBANG boy band member was released on Saturday (July 6) from alternative military service following controversy.

T.O.P began his mandatory service as a police officer in February of 2017, but was kicked out after a few months after it was discovered that he smoked marijuana in 2016. He received a 10-month jail sentence with a two year probation, and then started as a public service worker in January of 2018.

Three other BIGBANG members are also serving their mandatory military sentence. Seungri, who was a member of the group, was removed from the group after being investigated for drug use and sexual abuse.
