Missy Elliott to Receive MTV’s Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award at VMAs 2019!

Missy Elliott is set to receive MTV’s Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award at the 2019 MTV VMAs later this month!

“Missy’s impact on the music landscape is indelible,” Bruce Gillmer, MTV International co-brand head and Viacom music and music talent head, told Variety. “Her creative vision across production, performance and songwriting is unmatched.”

Missy is a five-time Grammy winner who has sold over 30 million records worldwide.

Jennifer Lopez, Pink, Rihanna and Kanye West all won the prestigious honor in recent years.

The 2019 MTV VMAs are set to air on August 26 on MTV. Check out the full list of nominees if you missed it!
