How to Find the 'Wizard of Oz' Easter Egg on Google Today!

Google has done something really cool to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the classic movie The Wizard of Oz, which was released in theaters on August 25, 1939.

If you search “The Wizard of Oz” on the search engine today, you will notice that there are a pair of ruby slippers next to the movie’s name in the top right corner.

If you click the slippers, you hear Judy Garland (as Dorothy) saying “There’s no place like home” while your web browser starts spinning around like a tornado.

The web page then turns into black and white, just how the movie begins before the twister hits. If you hit the twister icon that is there now, you hear the classic music that played while Dorothy ran home as the tornado stormed in. The page then turns around and goes back to color!
