Jennifer Lopez Explains Why She Wanted to Make a Big Deal Out of Her 50th Birthday

Jennifer Lopez wanted the world to know when she celebrated her 50th birthday!

The 50-year-old entertainer showed off her fit figure while on her way to the gym on Wednesday (August 28) in Miami, Fla.

Earlier in the week, Jennifer shared a recap from her It’s My Party World Tour, which wrapped up a few weeks ago.

In the vid, Jennifer explained why she wanted to make a big deal out of her 50th birthday and celebrate all summer.

“[The tour’s] been such a cathartic experience for me. Everybody thought that I was crazy when I wanted to go out and let everybody know that I was 50,” Jennifer said in the video.

She continued, “But for me, it was important. It was important as a woman to do that — to let people know that you don’t get to write women off at a certain point in their life. You don’t get to write people off. You’re getting better and better as you go so long as you’re open to the experience of growing and evolving. For me, it was very important to put out there.”
