Kobe Bryant Says ‘Lazy’ Shaq Comment Was ‘Tongue-In-Cheek’!

Kobe Bryant paid a visit to Jimmy Kimmel Live on Tuesday night (September 3) and cleared up his “lazy” comment towards Shaquille O’Neal.

The 41-year-old former professional basketball player explained his recent back and forth with Shaq after his comments about Shaq‘s work ethic when they played together, saying he would’ve had 12 championships if he wasn’t “lazy.”

“It was really a compliment. People missed the whole first half of that, which I said ‘he was the most dominant player I’d ever seen and I felt like he could’ve been the greatest of all time’,” Kobe explained to Jimmy. “People kind of missed that part of it — they caught onto the lazy part. But, that was like, I kinda said that tongue-in-cheek! We weren’t going to win 12 rings!”

Kobe added that he actually had to text Shaq after the comments went viral, saying, “No hard feelings, I still got love for you!”

Kobe Bryant also talked about raising four daughters, what he’s like in the delivery room, his oldest daughter driving, his wife wanting a boy, LeBron James trying to trademark “Taco Tuesday,” Lakers vs. Clippers, learning to play tennis, which tennis players he admires most, and his new fantasy adventure novel “Legacy and the Queen.”
