Melanie Martinez Celebrates Premiere of Directorial Debut 'K-12' - Watch Trailer!

Melanie Martinez channels Marie Antoinette as she hits the pink carpet at the premiere of her full-length film K-12 held at the ArcLight Cinerama Dome on Tuesday (September 3) in Hollywood.
The 24-year-old singer-director stars at Cry Baby in the film, who is both “strong and sensitive.” According to a press release, she is “sent off to a disturbing sleepaway school hidden underneath a grandiose facade.”
K-12 was written and directed by Melanie Martinez and marks her directorial debut.
“My heart is incredibly full,” Martinez said in a statement. “To be able to show people what I’ve been working on these past few years, and to be given the opportunity to create a feature film and have full creative control over every aspect of this project is a huge blessing and I’m beyond grateful.”
K-12 will have a one-day theatrical release on Thursday (September 5) – you can see the full updated list of theaters showing K-12 here!
Along with the film, Martinez will be dropping an accompanying album of the same name on Friday (September 6), which soundtracks the movie.
