Netflix Shuts Down Production on 'Cowby Bepop' for 7-9 Months Following John Cho's On-Set Injury

John Cho‘s knee injury has led to a lengthy production halt for his upcoming Netflix series Cowboy Bepop.

It is being reported that Netflix has shut down production of the upcoming live-action series for 7-9 months after the 47-year-old actor was injured on set in New Zealand, Deadline reports.

According to the reports, sources say the injury occurred as a freak accident that happened on the last take of a routine and well-rehearsed scene. John has already been flown back to Los Angeles for an upcoming surgery and extensive rehabilitation.

“Our thoughts are with John, and he has our complete support as he recuperates from this injury,” a Netflix spokesperson said in a statement to Deadline.

After the news broke, John took to Instagram to thank fans for their well wishes.

“‘Water can flow or it can crash.’ – Bruce Lee,” John wrote. “Thanks for all the well wishes everyone. Gonna be back and flowing in no time!”

We’re hoping John has a speedy recovery!
