'DWTS' 2019 Semi-Finals Elimination: [Spoiler] Tries to Self-Eliminate to Save Another Contestant

SPOILER ALERT – Don’t continue reading if you don’t want to see the full recap from tonight’s Dancing with the Stars!

Dancing With The Stars is in its semi-finals and the show is down to just five couples.

During tonight’s episode, the celebrities and their pro partners were tasked with performing two dances this week – one new routine and one redemption dance.

The redemption dance offered the couples the opportunity to re-do a dance from earlier in the season that had not been a strong performance.

Then, this season’s judges – Len Goodman, Carrie Ann Inaba and Bruno Tonioli – gave their opinion of the dances and the two scores were combined.

The celeb’s scores from the judges were then combined with the public vote, determining the bottom two contestants.

After the two contestants were announced, a shocking elimination was made and one dancer attempted to save the eliminated contestant!

Actor James Van Der Beek

The bottom two from the combined judges scores and audience votes ended up being James Van Der Beek and Ally Brooke. All three judges used their votes to save Ally, but after James revealed earlier in the night that he and his wife lost the baby they were expecting, Ally tried to self-eliminate and let James go to the finals. Host Tom Bergeron told her she was not allowed to do this.
