Tom Hanks Recalls Being 'Threatened' by Mr. Rogers' Fan While Filming 'A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood'!

Tom Hanks appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live last night (November 25) and dished all about his experiences while filming his upcoming movie, A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood!

The 63-year-old actor, who takes on the iconic role of Mr. Fred Rogers in the film, revealed that he was in Texas recently when he had this strange experience with a fan.

Tom explained he was in an elevator with a stranger and the man asked him how his movie based on Mr. Rogers was coming along. The conversation seemed normal and the man even wished him luck when the elevator door opened to exit.

“He turned around and said, ‘We take Mr. Rogers very seriously’ and walked away,” said Hanks, adding “I think his eyes went snake-like for a second and I went, I believe I have been threatened in the City of Three Rivers.”

Tom also talked about having a beard, Jeopardy contestants not knowing who he is, some of the interesting things he learned about Mr. Rogers while playing him, and the power of putting on the red sweater.
