'Lizzie McGuire' Revival Series Put On Hold, Disney+ Looking for New Creative Direction
Lizzie McGuire fans will have to wait a little longer for the revival series to premiere on Disney+ as the show has been put on hold.
Terri Minsky, the creator of the original series and showrunner of the revival series, is stepping down from her role and Disney+ is looking to hire a new showrunner to take the show in a different creative direction.
Hilary Duff and the cast had already filmed two episodes for the upcoming revival series, but Disney+ confirms that show will get a “new lens.”
“Fans have a sentimental attachment to Lizzie McGuire and high expectations for a new series,” a Disney spokesperson told Variety. “After filming two episodes, we concluded that we need to move in a different creative direction and are putting a new lens on the show.”
