Michael B. Jordan Tells 'Kimmel' He Personally Recruited Jamie Foxx for 'Just Mercy' Role!

Michael B. Jordan paid a visit to Jimmy Kimmel Live on Thursday night (January 9) and dished all about his brand new film Just Mercy, which he stars in and also executive produced.

Just Mercy shadows world-renowned civil rights defense attorney Bryan Stevenson (Michael B. Jordan) as he recounts his experiences and details the case of a condemned death row prisoner named Walter McMillian whom he fought to free.

Michael talked to Kimmel about personally seeking out Jamie Foxx for the role of Walter.

“In this case I did. When I read the script, we’ve been developing it for about four or five years or so, the only person that kept coming to mind was Jamie,” Micheal admitted. “This is the vehicle for him, you know, he’s on my Mount Rushmore of the greatest of all time. He’s so talented. He does everything, from singing to writing to stand-up comedy to math to swimming. He’s an incredible person.”

Michael also talked about the love he gets from women everywhere, doing a screening of Just Mercy for the Lakers and incarcerated youth, Kobe Bryant, and visiting his high school.
