Tom Hanks Yells 'I Am Spartacus' To Honor Kirk Douglas at Oscars 2020

Tom Hanks honored Kirk Douglas on stage after presenting at the 2020 Academy Awards on Sunday (February 9) at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood.

While heading off stage, the 63-year-old actor, who spoke about the upcoming The Academy Museum of Motion Pictures, had a moment where he yelled “I Am Spartacus”.

The reference was in honor of Kirk Douglas, who passed away earlier in the week at age 103.

Kirk starred in the 1960 film, Spartacus, as the title character. While he wasn’t nominated for an Oscar for the role, the film did go on to win four Oscars.

Tom, who announced that the museum will be open on December 14, 2020, is also pictured below chatting with Leonardo DiCaprio.
