Barbra Streisand Reacts to Eminem's Oscars Surprise, 17 Years After Presenting His Award

Barbra Streisand was the presenter of the Best Original Song category at the 2003 Oscars and she announced Eminem as the winner that year, though he wasn’t there to accept the award.

Eminem won the award for writing “Lose Yourself” for his hit movie 8 Mile. He didn’t attend because he reportedly didn’t think he would win as it’s an awards show for actors.

17 years later, Eminem made a surprise appearance at the Oscars to perform the winning song in a special moment dedicated to how music can change a movie.

“@eminem I had voted for your song too! Was really looking forward to handing you the award. Next time! 😜,” Barbra wrote on Instagram on late Monday night (February 10).
