Harvey Weinstein's Lawyer Releases Statement on His Guilty Verdict: 'The Fight is Not Over'

Harvey Weinstein‘s top lawyer is reacting to his guilty verdict.

After her client was found guilty on two sexual assault accounts on Monday (February 24), Donna Rotunno released a statement, saying it is a “bittersweet day.”

Obviously, this is a bittersweet day,” Donna said outside the court via Hollywood Reporter. “We are disappointed. We knew we came in and we were down 35-0 on the day that we started this trial.”

“The jurors came in knowing everything they could know about this case. We couldn’t find a juror who had never heard of Harvey Weinstein,” Donna continued before saying that Harvey‘s team will “absolutely be appealing” the verdict.”

“The fight is not over,” Donna added.

Harvey was found guilty of rape and criminal sexual acts. He was found not guilty of sexual predatory assault. After his appearance in court, Harvey was handcuffed and taken to jail.

“It is absolutely horrible for me to watch my client be taken into custody,” Donna said. “We don’t feel good about that at all.”

“Harvey is very strong,” Donna concluded. “Harvey is unbelievably strong. He took it like a man. He knows that we will continue to fight for him and knows that this is not over.”
