Tony Awards 2020 Postponed Amid Health Crisis

The 2020 Tony Awards have been postponed due to the ongoing world health crisis.

The ceremony was originally scheduled for a June 7 date at Radio City Music Hall, but due to the cancellation of all of Broadway and the April 23 eligibility cutoff, the awards show was forced to reevaluate. Right now, it’s unclear when Broadway will open back up as the CDC is recommending groups of 50 or more do not meet until at least early May.

The show will be rescheduled at a later date, with the official release adding, “We will announce new dates and additional information once Broadway opens again. We are looking forward to celebrating Broadway and our industry when it is safe to do so.”

We did have a hint that the Tonys would be cancelled earlier this month.
