Oprah Winfrey Donates $10 Million Amid Pandemic
Oprah Winfrey has made a massive donation to help out during the ongoing health crisis.
The 66-year-old mogul announced Thursday (April 2) that she is donating $10 million to help with pandemic relief efforts via her “Oprah Talks” interview with Chef Jose Andres and Feeding America CEO Claire Banineaux-Fontenot.
Oprah said $1 million of the $10 million will go to America’s Food Fund, an initiative founded by Leonardo DiCaprio and Laurene Powell Jobs in association with Andres‘ Word Central Kitchen.
In a tweet, Oprah revealed the rest of the money would help Americans in “cities across the country” and in areas where she grew up. “I am donating $10 million overall to help Americans during this pandemic in cities across the country and in areas where I grew up,” she tweeted.
