'Bachelor' Couple Arie Luyendyk Jr. & Lauren Burnham Reveal She Suffered Miscarriage

Arie Luyendyk Jr. and Lauren Burnham are opening up about an incredibly painful experience.

The Bachelor couple revealed that Lauren suffered a miscarriage in a new video on YouTube on Saturday (May 30).

The couple documented their journey as they get a pregnancy test and find out, to Lauren‘s surprise, they she is expecting their second child. They also have a 1-year-old daughter together, Alessi.

“We bought a new house with more space, we planned how we wanted to tell you all and we envisioned our future with Alessi‘s little brother/sister. We were planning to share our journey through pregnancy with you, but unfortunately we didn’t get the happy story we had hoped for,” they said.

They revealed that the trouble started with her ultrasound, which showed that the baby looked only 5 weeks old when it should have been 8 weeks along. After waiting another week, they returned to discover that she had suffered a missed miscarriage, which happens when the embryo has died, but has not been physically miscarried.

“It’s been a roller coaster of emotions going from scared at first a little bit because it was so soon, then happy, then stress and worry for weeks on end, and then obviously today was the bad news. It’s consumed our thoughts for the last month. It’s been hard holding this back from everybody,” Arie said.

“I was really excited to tell you guys that we were pregnant, and I feel like this is the best way for us to tell the whole story,” Lauren added.

“Hopefully the next time you see a video with the word pregnancy it’s positive and it’s good news,” Arie went on to say, hopefully.

Arie also debuted a new look in quarantine.
