Grant Gustin Reacts To Hartley Sawyer Being Fired From 'The Flash'

Grant Gustin is reacting to the firing of Hartley Sawyer from The Flash.

The 30-year-old actor, who stars in the title role on The CW series, took to Instagram after hearing the news Hartley had been let go following his past racist remarks being resurfaced.

Grant shared a statement from showrunner Eric Wallace, before adding his own thoughts.

“I don’t have much to add because Eric’s thoughts are stated so eloquently and powerfully. I will say I was shocked, saddened and angry when I saw the tweets. Words matter,” Grant wrote.

Eric shared in his statement, “I, too, am committed to bringing permanent change to the work environment here on THE FLASH. Yes, this is a family show. But it’s for all families,” Eric says in his letter. “That includes Black and Brown ones. In order to facilitate this, I will continued to find Black and Brown writers, directors, actors and producers of all genders to help tell FLASH stories.”
