Eurovision Song Contest follows aspiring Icelandic musicians Lars (Will Ferrell) and Sigrit (McAdams), who are given the opportunity of a lifetime to represent their country at the world’s biggest song competition.

The duo, known as Fire Saga, are the laughing stock of the competition due to the mishaps that happen throughout their performances, but they make it to the grand finale. Instead of performing the song they entered into the contest, the duo decides to disqualify themselves and sing “Husavik” instead. The song was written by Sigrit as her declaration of love to Lars and their hometown in Iceland.

Rachel doesn’t actually provide the vocals for her character and she lip syncs to the voice of another star. Learn more about the artist who sings Sigrit’s songs!

“Where the mountains sing through the screams of seagulls / Where the whales could live ’cause they’re gentle people / In my hometown, my hometown,” Sigrit sings in the ballad. Part of the song is also performed in Icelandic!
