This Might Give You a Clue as to How Many People Streamed 'Hamilton' This Weekend!

The filmed version of the musical Lin Manuel-Miranda‘s Hamilton hit Disney’s streaming service, Disney+, this weekend, and we now have a clue about just how popular the hit musical actually was for viewers this weekend!

The film debuted on Friday, July 3 and between Friday and Sunday, the Disney+ app was downloaded a whopping 513,323 times globally, including 266,084 times in the United States alone.

According to Variety, this means that “Disney Plus downloads were 72.4% higher than the average of the four weekends in June 2020 over comparable time periods.” Many believe that the rise in downloads has to be attributed to Hamilton, and this number obviously doesn’t include those who already subscribe to the streaming service!

This version of Hamilton has been billed as the original Broadway cast, however, one of the cast members is issuing a gentle reminder that this is not the case!
