Paris Jackson Confesses That She Did Try To Kill Herself In New 'Unfiltered' Episode

Paris Jackson is opening up about her past attempts to end her life, during the most recent episode of her Facebook Watch series, Unfiltered: Paris Jackson and Gabriel Glenn.

During the episode, the 22-year-old singer and daughter of the late Michael Jackson, revealed that self-harm has been a big issue in her life and began after her father’s death.

“I gained a lot of weight and [eating] became an addiction… and then a cousin called me fat so I was like, ‘OK, I can’t do that anymore,” she recalled of moving in with her grandmother, Katherine. “And that’s how I fell into self-harm.”

Paris added, “I would cut and burn myself. I never thought that I would die from it because I was always in control of the razor and I knew how deep I was going.”

She also shared that dopamine release was one of the reasons behind her self-harm.

“Dopamine is called dope for a reason, it feels good,” she says. “Things like food and sex and drugs and music and working out — there’s a lot of things that cause a dopamine release. Self-harm was one of them, tattoos was one of them and so there was that and then also it was a distraction from emotional pain and transferring to physical pain and the need for control.”

Paris then confessed, “Yes, I tried to kill myself many times.”

If you recall, there was an urgency many years ago when Paris was rushed to the hospital because of a reported attempt to end her life.
