Kristen Bell Says Her Daughter Asked About Sex & Dax Shepard Had the Perfect Answer

Kristen Bell had quite the story during her appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert this week.

The 40-year-old actress opened up about her eldest daughter, Lincoln, who asked a funny question as she and husband, Dax Shepard, were heading out for a walk around the neighborhood.

“My sister was here watching the kids. We masked up and we were like, ‘Oh, we’ll just walk down the street. There’s a great hike near our house.’ And on our way out the door, my 7-year-old stood in the door and she held it open. She goes, ‘Uh, are you going to do a sex?’” she shared.

Kristen and Dax were obviously caught by surprise at her question, and Dax had quite a good answer for her.

“We’ve talked to her about what sex is, but we’ve never talked about us doing it. Dax just really quickly said, ‘We’d love to, but it’s illegal publicly. Bye!’ and closed the door.”

Kristen continued, comparing Lincoln and her younger sister, Delta, to parakeets because they talk a lot.

“[It's] truly like having two crazy parakeets stapled to your shoulder all afternoon, where they’re just talking so much,” she shared.

The two girls are also keeping Kristen and Dax on their toes while stuck at home during the pandemic. One of their most recent activities include moving furniture.

“They’ve been making forts but they’ve been expanding into moving furniture,” she added. “So I will wake up at 8:30 and none of the furniture that was in the room previously will be in the room.”
