Earlier over the weekend, Dua revealed she was shocked upon hearing that Future Nostalgia had been shortlisted for Album of the Year at the 2020 Hyundai Mercury Prize Awards.
Dua admitted that she felt she wasn’t cool enough for the nomination.
“My manager Ben called me on the phone when I was in New York and told me I was shortlisted for the Mercury Prize and I couldn’t believe it,” she shared on Twitter. “I never really thought that would ever happen for me so I am really excited to have been shortlisted and for the recognition.”
She added, “The support means so much to me and it’s kind of surreal because maybe I just didn’t think I was cool enough.”
