'New Mutants' Director Josh Boone Deletes Instagram After the Film's Release

Josh Boone, the director and co-writer of the new X-Men spinoff movie The New Mutants, has deleted his Instagram page.

The deletion of the social media account happened right after the movie was finally released in theaters after years of delays.

The movie went through many issues during production and there have been reports that the studio even wanted to throw out the film and start over. Now that the film is out in theaters, the response has been mostly negative. The Rotten Tomatoes score currently is at a 29% and the audience score is at a 53%.

Some eagle-eyed fans of The New Mutants noticed that Josh deactivated his profile on Instagram after the film starting receiving backlash on there. Some of the backlash has revolved around the casting of the character Sunspot with an actor who is not dark-skinned, as he is in the comics.

The New Mutants is an original horror thriller set in an isolated hospital where a group of young mutants is being held for psychiatric monitoring. When strange occurrences begin to take place, both their new mutant abilities and their friendships will be tested as they battle to try and make it out alive.

In an interview given back in March, Josh explained why there were never actually any reshoots on the movie.
