Brad Pitt Explains Why Miraval Is More Than a 'Celebrity' Wine

Brad Pitt has been hard at work on a brand new rosé Champagne, called Fleur de Miraval, which is set to debut in October.

The 56-year-old Oscar-winning actor has been spending time at his French chateau Miraval this week and there’s a good reason.

Brad and his team just announced that the new rosé will be released on October 15.

“For me,” Brad told People, “Champagne conjures up feelings of celebration, quality, prestige, and luxury. But rosé Champagne is still relatively unknown. Backed by our success with Miraval in Provence, I wanted us to try to create the defining brand of rosé Champagne, focusing all our efforts on just this one color.”

“The result is spectacular and I’m very proud of it,” Brad added.

The new champagne was created by the Jolie-Pitt family, the Perrin family, and the Péters family. The champagne will launch with a limited edition first release of just 20,000 bottlings and each bottle is expected to sell for about $390 each.

“Miraval isn’t a ‘celebrity’ wine for me,” Brad added. “Above all, it’s a wonderful, exceptional estate that I fell in love with, and that I continue to invest in to make it one of the finest estates in Provence. For the wine, I partnered with the Perrin family. They have been winemakers for five generations. Together, we’re in it for the long term. It’s not just a passing trend.”
