Marie Osmond is Leaving 'The Talk' After One Season

Marie Osmond is saying goodbye to The Talk.

It was announced on Tuesday (September 2) that the 60-year-old entertainer is leaving the CBS talk show after one season.

“Marie is a consummate professional, and we thank her for sharing her personal experiences, insight, as well as incredible talents, with our audience,” CBS said in a statement to Deadline. “We will miss her humor, kindness and good nature, and wish her much success in her future endeavors.”

Marie is currently working on new projects, including a new show with ViacomCBS.

In her farewell statement, Marie opened up about working with The Talk‘s longtime executive producer and showrunner John Redmann, who recently announced he was leaving the show after 10 seasons.

“One of the highlights of my year at The Talk was working with my dear friend John Redmann, and I’m excited to continue our working relationship on several projects we are developing,” Marie said. “Also, my husband and I just dropped our last two kids off at college, we looked at each other, laughed and remembered we hadn’t been this alone together since 1982!! So, at this stage of my life, I’m looking forward to spending more time with him and visiting all the kids/grandkids.”

Marie joined The Talk in May 2019, replacing Sara Gilbert. It has not been announced if someone will be replacing Marie.

Production for season 11 of The Talk is set to begin later this month.

If you missed it, Marie explained why she isn’t leaving any of her money to her children after she dies.
