Diana Rigg Dead - 'The Avengers' & 'Game of Thrones' Star Dies at 82

Diana Rigg has sadly passed away.

The award-winning British actress has died at the age of 82, BBC reported on Thursday (September 10).

“She died peacefully early this morning. She was at home with her family who have asked for privacy at this difficult time,” her agent told the outlet.

Diana was born on July 20, 1938, in Doncaster, England, and first shot to superstardom as Emma Peel in The Avengers from 1965 to 1968, and would go on to be known as Lady Olenna Tyrell in recent years in the hugely popular Game of Thrones, for which she was nominated for four Emmys.

Diana also played Bond girl Tracy di Vincenzo in 1969′s On Her Majesty’s Secret Service.

She won a Tony Award in 1994 for the title role in Medea, along with three more nominations in her prolific career. She won her Emmy in 1997 playing Mrs. Danvers in PBS’s adaptation of Daphne du Maurier‘s Rebecca.

Our thoughts are with Diana Rigg‘s loved ones at this difficult time.
