The Stars of 'The Broken Hearts Gallery' Interviewed Each Other, Exclusively for Just Jared!

The Broken Hearts Gallery is a brand new romantic comedy that is playing in theaters around the country NOW!

The movie follows “the always unique Lucy (Geraldine Viswanathan), a 20-something art gallery assistant living in New York City, who also happens to be an emotional hoarder. After she gets dumped by her latest boyfriend, Lucy is inspired to create The Broken Heart Gallery, a pop-up space for the items love has left behind. Word of the gallery spreads, encouraging a movement and a fresh start for all the romantics out there, including Lucy herself.”

Also starring in the movie are Molly Gordon, Phillipa Soo, Dacre Montgomery, Utkarsh Ambudkar, and Suki Waterhouse. The film is earning great reviews and currently has a fresh rating of 76% on Rotten Tomatoes, as well as an audience score of 90%.

This is the perfect feel-good movie to welcome you back into the theaters after a long time away due to the pandemic!

Geraldine Viswanathan Q&A – Interviewed by Phillipa Soo

1. Tacos or Dumplings?
It’s tacos for me. The range, the diversity. So many options for the insides of the taco and the outsides.

2. What is the worst pick up line you have ever heard?
Once a guy on Tinder just messaged me “your mum likes brown rice.” I was like, ok?

3. What is your signature Karaoke song?
Signature karaoke song is often “Pony” by Ginuwine, sometimes Shania Twain‘s “That Don’t Impress Me Much,” but most of the time “Superbass” by Nicki Minaj.

4. What was your favorite scene in BHG to shoot?
My favorite scene in BHG to shoot was the scene where I got to kiss Phillipa, because I got to kiss Phillipa.

5. If you had a soundtrack for your life, what would be the opening sequence song?
This is definitely lame, but when I was a kid I thought “Breakaway” by Kelly Clarkson was my song because I also “grew up in a small town and when the rain would fall down I’d just stare out my window.” That my was moody tween anthem and it just has to be featured on the soundtrack of my life.

Phillipa Soo Q&A – Interviewed by Molly Gordon

1. What is your favorite rom-com of all time?
Amelie… it’s a rom-com in a very obscure, French kind of way…

2. We originally met years before this movie doing a workshop of a musical. What was your first impression of me…?
We LIVED together for a week the first time we met! Which was so crazy. And I think one of the first things we did was go grocery shopping together…. which is hilarious… I thought, she’s so wise! An old soul. Such an intuitive actor, and a singing voice that wraps you up and hugs you like a best friend that hasn’t seen you in years. You never missed an opportunity to find laughter in an given moment, and I admired that so much.

3. What is your favorite meal to make?
Anchovy Butter Chicken, Alison Roman’s recipe

4. What was your favorite part of filming?
The first week of filming in the apartment location was so much fun. Getting to know you and Geraldine and work with Natalie was a career highlight, I will never forget.

5. You recently got a dog? (Jealous) How has that been?
Glorious, and so fulfilling! I love being a dog mom. I have never examined another creature’s poop so much in my life. It’s amazing.

Molly Gordon Q&A – Interviewed by Geraldine Viswanathan

1. What is the first thing you noticed about me when you first met me?
When Beanie [Feldstein] and I saw Blockers we fangirled in a hard way. I had secretly hoped we could become friends one day. So when I first met you I was deeply nervous and I think I talked too loud… But you immediately made me feel comfortable and were so kind and deeply funny. And then I was like f–k. I’m in love.

2. What was your favorite day on set?
My favorite day on set was anytime I got to do scenes with you and Phillipa! We all felt so free and it did not feel like work in any way.

3. What is your go to quarantine snack?
Wine and Hummus

4. If you had to assemble a breakup kit for someone, what would you put in it?
Incredible friends, Linda Ronstadt, Dolly Parton, Justin’s Peanut Butter Cups.

5. What is your favorite karaoke song?
“Leave (Get Out)” – JoJo
