Warner Bros. Execs React to Misconduct Allegations at 'Ellen' & 'TMZ'

This summer was filled with allegations of misconduct at two shows that are produced by Warner Bros. and now execs at WarnerMedia are speaking out in response.

Dozens of current and former employees at The Ellen DeGeneres Show and TMZ have spoken out about workplace misconduct.

BuzzFeed reports that WarnerMedia CEO Jason Kilar sent an email to staff in which he said, “I am both concerned and disappointed by public reports regarding patterns of unacceptable behavior that have been raised in recent weeks.”

He also said that all existing and prospective partners of the company must act with the requirement “that people be treated with dignity and our intention to sever ties where patterns of behavior are at odds with that requirement.” He told staff that the company has hired a third party to do “an objective, proactive review across our production business” to understand if there is “any pattern of behavior that is at odds with our need to treat each other with dignity.”

Warner Bros. CEO Ann Sarnoff also sent a memo to staff and she said that she “empowered, and will hold accountable, the Studios and Networks HR and Legal teams to act on any issues that are brought to them. These groups are a safe harbor where you can register any concerns.”

Ellen DeGeneres spoke out in a statement the other day and confirmed that she’ll be addressing the controversy on her talk show when it returns next week.
