Netflix Buys Jake Gyllenhaal's Latest Movie 'The Guilty'

Jake Gyllenhaal‘s upcoming movie will be premiering on Netflix after the streaming service optioned the film for $30 million.

Deadline reports that the movie, called The Guilty, was “brought to the marketplace by Endeavor Content with a script by True Detective creator Nic Pizzolatto” and Netflix “moved quickly” to pick it up for the network.

Production on the flick is expected to start before year’s end with Antoine Fuqua directing the dramatic thriller.

The Guilty takes place over the course of a single morning in a 911 dispatch call center.

Call operator Joe Bayler (Gyllenhaal) tries to save a caller in grave danger—but he soon discovers that nothing is as it seems, and facing the truth is the only way out.

If you didn’t see, Netflix just bought this other movie that was shot during the pandemic.
