Mariah Carey Shades Jennifer Lopez, Brings Back 'I Don't Know Her' Comment!

Mariah Carey threw some shade in her ongoing feud with Jennifer Lopez in her brand new memoir, “The Meaning Of Mariah.”

In the book, Mariah wrote about her film Glitter and the negative reviews she received surrounding the film and soundtrack. She blames a lot of this on her ex husband Tommy Mottola.

“Tommy was furious when I cut the strings he used to manipulate me,” Mariah wrote (via TooFab). “There was no way he would allow me to have a huge success after leaving him and Sony. He was not going to let me or Glitter shine.”

She goes on to explain how she had chosen to sample Yellow Magic Orchestra’s “Firecracker” for one of Glitter‘s songs, “Loverboy.”

A month before the release, Jennifer Lopez and Tommy used that same sample to create and release her hit song “I’m Real.”

Mariah continued, “After hearing my new song, using the same sample I used, Sony rushed to make a single for another female entertainer on their label (whom I don’t know).”

Then, she had to find another collaborator for the album after she had spoken with Ja Rule to do a duet. However, Ja Rule ended up working with JLo after he was asked to “collaborate on a duet for the same female entertainer’s record — leaving me to scurry and remake the song.”

Mariah closed the chapter out with, “And after all that sh*t, ‘Loverboy’ ended up being the best-selling single of 2001 in the United States. I’m real.”

If you don’t know, Mariah famously once responded “I don’t know her” when asked about JLo and it became a huge meme.
