Eddie Van Halen Dead at 65 After Throat Cancer Battle

Van Halen musician Eddie Van Halen has tragically passed away at the age of 65 after a long battle with throat cancer.

The musician passed away on Tuesday (October 6) at St. Johns Hospital in Santa Monica, California with his wife Janie by his side as well as his son Wolfgang and his brother Alex. No official statement has been released at this time.

TMZ reports that in the last three days his health had deteriorated as they discovered the cancer had invaded his brain and other organs.

Eddie had been quietly battling throat cancer for years.

Eddie‘s career as a musician spanned decades as the lead guitarist for the rock band Van Halen.
