Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez Reacts to Winning Second Term in Congress

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is a winner once again!

The 31-year-old politician won a second term as the U.S. Representative for New York’s 14th congressional district on Tuesday (November 3).

“Serving NY-14 and fighting for working class families in Congress has been the greatest honor, privilege, & responsibility of my life,” AOC tweeted. “Thank you to the Bronx & Queens for re-electing me to the House despite the millions spent against us, & trusting me to represent you once more.”

With 80% reporting, AOC won about 68% of the voting against Republican John Cummings.

AOC drew national recognition when she won the Democratic Party’s primary election for New York’s 14th congressional district against 10-term Congressman Joe Crowley back in June 2018. She then defeated Republican opponent Anthony Pappas in the November 2018 general election.

Taking office at 29-years-old, AOC is the youngest woman ever to serve in the U.S. Congress.

Congrats on the re-election AOC!
