'Jeopardy!' Producer Mike Richards Pays Tribute To Alex Trebek Ahead of New Episode

Mike Richards held back tears as he paid tribute to Alex Trebek on Monday’s episode of Jeopardy!

The executive producer spoke ahead of the recorded quiz show, revealing that Alex had filmed his final episodes just two weeks before his death over the weekend.

“This is an enormous loss for our staff and crew, his family and for his millions of fans,” Mike shared in his message.

He added, “He loved this show and everything it stood for…he will forever be an inspriation for his constant desire to learn, his kindness and for his love of his family.”

Alex died over the weekend from complications from Stage IV pancreatic cancer.

His final episode will air on Christmas Day.
