Here's How the Royals Will Spend Christmas This Year

The royal family is splitting up for the holidays.

Prince William and Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge (Kate Middleton) and Prince Harry and Meghan, Duchess of Sussex (Meghan Markle) will be spending Christmas apart, according to People on Thursday (November 26).

Although the arrangements have not yet been formally confirmed while awaiting the latest government guidelines amid the pandemic and the second lockdown in England, 94-year-old Queen Elizabeth‘s usual traditions will be “scaled down.”

William and Kate are “are waiting to hear [about U.K. government guidelines] just like everyone else” about travel options, a source told the outlet.

“The children miss their great-granny, but it’s the same rules for them as everyone.”

The Queen remains in isolation in Windsor Castle with 99-year-old husband Prince Philip, 99. They are reportedly deciding whether to stay there or head to her Sandringham Estate in Norfolk for the traditional Christmas and New Year’s holiday.

William, Kate and their three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis will likely spend the holiday just up the road from the main Sandringham house at their Anmer Hall mansion.

Harry, Meghan and son Archie will celebrate their first Christmas at their new home in Montecito, California, with Meghan‘s mom, Doria Ragland.

Meghan Markle recently got candid about a very personal loss the couple suffered this past summer.
