President-Elect Joe Biden Reveals Plan on Masks Once He Takes Office
Joe Biden will soon be asking Americans to mask up.
During an interview with CNN, the 78-year-old President-Elect opened up about his plan to tackle the the coronavirus pandemic once he takes office in January, and it begins with asking Americans to wear a mask.
“Just 100 days to mask. Not forever — 100 days,” Biden said. “I think we’ll see a significant reduction if that occurs with vaccinations and masking, to drive down the numbers considerably.”
In the past, Biden has suggested the possibility of a nationwide mask mandate, but has scaled back, since he doesn’t have the authority to authorize that. He did say that he will issue an order that masks must be worn in federal buildings and on interstate transportation, such as on airplanes and buses that cross state lines.
When properly worn, masks can slow down the spread of COVID, which has already claimed the lives of more than 275,000 Americans.
It was recently revealed that these former presidents have volunteered to take the COVID vaccine on camera to prove its safety to Americans.
Joe Biden will be sworn in as the next President of the United States on Inauguration Day, which is January 20, 2021.
