This 90-Year-Old Woman Is the First Person to Receive COVID-19 Vaccine in UK!

The first Coronavirus vaccine has been successfully administered outside of the clinical vaccine trials to a woman named Margaret Keenan!

Margaret, who will turn 91 later this week, received the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine at 6:31 a.m. local time on Tuesday (December 8) at University Hospital Coventry in England.

The vaccine was approved for use in the UK but the USA is still awaiting approval by the FDA.

“I feel so privileged to be the first person vaccinated against COVID-19,” she said to the AP. “It’s the best early birthday present I could wish for because it means I can finally look forward to spending time with my family and friends in the New Year after being on my own for most of the year.”

Margaret had some advice for everyone wondering if they should receive the vaccine: “I would say go for it. If I can do it, well, so can you.”
