Hunter Biden Says He's Being Investigated for 'Tax Affairs,' But Believes He Handled Everything Legally

Hunter Biden has announced that he is being investigated by the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Delaware over his “tax affairs.”

The 50-year-old son of President-Elect Joe Biden released a statement through his father’s transition team on Wednesday (December 9).

“I learned yesterday for the first time that the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Delaware advised my legal counsel, also yesterday, that they are investigating my tax affairs,” Hunter said in the statement.

He added, “I take this matter very seriously, but I am confident that a professional and objective review of these matters will demonstrate that I handled my affairs legally and appropriately, including with the benefit of professional tax advisors.”

The transition team also provided a statement that said, “President-elect Biden is deeply proud of his son, who has fought through difficult challenges, including the vicious personal attacks of recent months, only to emerge stronger.”

No other information is available yet and the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Delaware declined to comment about the investigation.
