Spain's Queen Letizia Makes Humanitarian Trip To Honduras To Deliver Essential Items & COVID-19 Tests

The 48-year-old royal made the trip across the ocean to visit the most affected areas that were hit by Hurricanes Eta and Iota. She delivered humanitarian aid to a shelter in Sula Valley which was devastated by hurricanes.
Letizia was accompanied by the Secretary of State for International Cooperation, Ángeles Moreno Bau, and they arrived at Coronel Héctor Moncada Air Base (La Ceiba). There, they were received by the Spanish Ambassador to Honduras, Guillermo Kirkpatrick, and by the Director of Cooperation with Latin America and the Caribbean of the AECID, Carmen Castiella Ruiz de Velasco.
She also met and spoke with President Juan Orlando Hernandez and his wife, Ana Garcia, during the trip.
The humanitarian team delivered over 120 tons of cargo to Honduras, and it included rapid COVID test kits.
Letizia was last seen out at a public event with her family – husband King Felipe, and daughters, Leonor, Princess of Asturias, and Infanta Sofia – at the Princess of Asturias Awards in Oviedo, Spain.
