Matthew Rhys to Star in FX Series 'Wyrd,' Keri Russell Will Produce With Him!

Longtime couple Matthew Rhys and Keri Russell will be working together again and they’re reteaming with FX for their new project!

Matthew is set to star in the upcoming series Wyrd, based on the four-issue book series that launched in 2019. Keri will be an executive producer on the project alongside her real-life partner.

The project is being developed by Oscar-nominated writer Sheldon Turner and his Vendetta Productions producing partner Jennifer Klein. Also serving as executive producers are Mike Richardson, Keith Goldberg, and Chris Tongue for Dark Horse.

Deadline reports that Wyrd is the story “of the ultimate immigrant, an extraterrestrial in exile. It centers on Wyrd (Rhys) who was sent to earth in an attempt to better understand humanity. When his people don’t come back for him, he’s forced to assimilate – all while investigating paranormal activity and searching for a way home.”

The project is describes as “James Bond meets The X-Files.”

Matthew and Keri‘s series The Americans previously aired on FX.
